Inspired by the subtle but complex patterning of twill fabric and how it influences the overall design of a suit, we stepped back to rethink how the exterior brick veneer on a building designed for a clothing retailer could be used as a medium to explore this idea.
By taking a simple solid building mass and blending it with the playful weaving of light and shadow using a series of half inch brick reliefs and raked joints, it became possible to modulate and ornament the exterior of the building in subtle but well-suited ways.
