There are no shortages of quotes about a company’s DNA, so as a reception desk for a national healthcare company, the Allele Desk was inspired by the bar code patterning of DNA fingerprinting. To influence the development of the bar coding sequences, the company’s mission statement was interpreted into a dot-dashed language. This patterning was then routed into MDF panels and wrapped around the desk using angles derived from the mathematical notation of the founding year of the company.
