FANCY FACE
For Birmingham’s first facial bar, bDot reimagined an ordinary shell into a refined yet approachable environment that reflects the confidence and creativity of its owner. The design began with a clean, open layout, a deliberate departure from the typical closed-off spa experience, emphasizing visibility, light, and connection.
A custom reception counter anchors the front of the space, crafted from natural wood to introduce warmth and authenticity. Layered lighting, from sculptural pendants to linear ceiling fixtures, creates a subtle rhythm that guides movement from the bright storefront to the quieter treatment rooms beyond. Soft geometric wall graphics add depth and playfulness, while simple, modern furnishings keep the focus on comfort and calm.
Throughout, material and color choices were intentionally restrained, allowing texture, light, and form to define the atmosphere. The result is a space that feels fresh, personal, and contemporary, a balance of precision and personality that mirrors the craft of skincare itself. Wall art by Bendy Knees.
