A BirdHouse Exploration Series
bDot Architecture is all about challenging convention, whether in our buildings or the objects we make in our shop. Through a series of quick design charrettes, we’ve been exploring how birdhouses can bring together our loves of inventive design with hands-on making.
Right now, these ideas live in sketches, digital models, and paper prototypes, but one day they’ll take shape in wood, plexiglass, 3D-printed filament, and sheet metal. Once installed, they’ll be scattered around Birmingham, ready for our smallest residents and sure to bring a little delight to anyone passing by.
The Birdhouse Series lets us study architecture at a smaller scale, testing form, structure, and material in a way that’s fast, playful, and approachable. Small in scale, big in imagination, and ready for the birds.
