So, we keep a collection of miscellaneous items back in the shop that we not only use for concept generators of space and form, but to also use in design exercises without a predetermined form or function.  The way that the pieces are assembled here is prerational whereby the attachment and location of each piece is based upon the relationship of the current state of the form, not on preconceived logic.
